Description
Are you ready to hold the power of laser hair removal in your hands? Then get ready for TRIA - the first proven laser hair removal system you can safely use in the privacy of your own home. Discover the confidence that comes with beautiful, smooth skin. Trust in a beauty brand that delivers results.
TRIA is simple to use. Once charged, TRIA allows you to select one of three levels of intensity appropriate for your degree of sensitivity. When applied to the skin, it emits a short pulse of light through an output window, covering multiple hair follicles in second-long intervals. When it's time to move the output window, the device emits a short beep.
TRIA has three contact sensors to safeguard against misuse. If all three contact sensors are not
touching the skin, the device will not emit a pulse of light. If the device is moved or lifted from the skin during a laser light pulse, TRIA will signal that the area needs to be treated again by emitting a short buzzing sound.
TRIA targets hair growth beneath the skin. Because the diode laser reacts with the dark pigment of the hair shaft, the surrounding skin is not harmed. The result is beautifully smooth, radiant skin that doesn't require the arduous maintenance of many other conventional hair removal methods.
Study Data
The University of Arizona study was directed by Dr. Ronald Wheeland, one of the nation's foremost laser dermatologists and former president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He is also the medical editor of Cosmetic Surgery Times and on the editorial boards of The Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery and Lasers in Surgery and Medicine.
The TRIA study was designed to validate the safety and efficacy of the device. Additionally, it was designed to demonstrate a low and appropriate rate of side effects in suitable users.
Usability data, physical hair counts and side effects were collected at each treatment visit and at 1 month, 2 month, and 3 month follow-up visits following the 3rd treatment. 77 subjects completed the study and reported the following results:
| Hair Count Reduction |
 |
| . |
3 weeks after 1st treatment: 61% mean hair count reduction from all sites |
| . |
3 weeks after 2nd treatment: 70% mean hair count reduction from all sites |
| . |
4 weeks after 3rd treatment: 60% mean hair count reduction from all sites |

| In addition, these subjects noted skin textural improvements compared to their usual method of hair removal. |
 |
| . |
43% reported that TRIA produced "smoother skin" |
| . |
38% of subjects reported that TRIA produced "less skin irritation and bumps" |
| . |

Guidelines
Warnings and Contraindications
Unfortunately, TRIA is not for everyone.
DO NOT USE TRIA around eyes, eyelids, eyelashes, bony orbit of the eye, forehead, temples, cheekbones, nostrils or between the eyes or eyebrows.
DO NOT USE TRIA on darker skin tones (medium brown, dark brown, or black skin). Darker skin tones absorb too much laser light, which can cause serious skin injury including blisters, burns, scars, and skin color changes. This includes lighter skinned individuals who have recently tanned or used a self-tanner on their skin.
DO NOT USE TRIA if you are of African, East Indian, Native American, or Pacific Island descent. These skin types absorb too much laser light, which can cause serious skin injury.
DO NOT USE TRIA if you rarely or never sunburn after prolonged sun exposure. These skin types absorb too much laser light, which can cause serious skin injury.
DO NOT USE TRIA if you have an active skin disease, sunburn, peeling skin, open sores, a skin rash, active lesions from psoriasis or other skin diseases, a prior history of skin cancer, or are taking medications that may cause your skin to be sensitive to light.
TRIA DOES NOT WORK on naturally white, grey, light blond, or red facial or body hair. These hair colours are too light for TRIA to be effective.
How to use Tria
Realising your desire of smooth and beautiful skin has never been so easy. TRIA's user-friendly design requires no special training. You can use it when the time is right for you at the intensity that's right for you.
TRIA is conveniently cordless for increased mobility and easily reaches various parts of your face and body. Before using TRIA, simply remove all cosmetics, lubricants and creams from your skin, and shave the area(s) where you intend to use TRIA. (Shaving reduces discomfort during laser hair removal sessions because there is no hair above the skin to absorb the laser light.) TRIA is rechargeable and does not require a cord while in use. And, its compact size allows for easy handling and storage after use.
For best results, TRIA should be used every two to four weeks until desired results are achieved. After the first laser hair removal session, it takes approximately two weeks to begin seeing visible results. (Although it may appear that the hair is still growing, the disabled follicles are actually "ejecting" the hairs from beneath the skin.) Hairs that were not in the "active growth phase" during the previous session will continue to grow and will need to be re-treated.
